Prodia Records Net Profit of IDR 105.23 Billion in the First Quarter/2022
JAKARTA, 10 May, 2022 – PT Prodia Widyahusada, Tbk. (stock code: PRDA) recorded a solid financial performance with the Company's net profit of IDR 105.23 billion in the first quarter of this year. The performance of the first quarter was also supported by high sales figures of IDR 556.07 billion and an operating profit of IDR 125.29 billion. This marks a solid achievement at the beginning of 2022 considering the ongoing of COVID-19 pandemic.
The high sales figure and the lower cost of goods sold figure compared to last year's quarter resulted in the Company's gross profit of IDR 332.36 billion. The Company's operating expenses in the first quarter of 2022 increased to IDR 207.34 billion therefore the Company's operating profit figure was recorded at IDR 125.29 billion. The income tax expense decreased to IDR 27.49 billion therefore the Company's net profit in the first quarter of 2022 was recorded at IDR 105.23 billion. Even though there was a 33.7% decrease of net profit from last year's quarter, the Company still produced a remarkable performance.
In the cash flow statement for the first quarter of 2022, cash flow from operating activities was recorded at IDR 130.52 billion and cash flow from investing activities was recorded at negative IDR 233.00 billion. Meanwhile, cash flow from financing activities increased to a surplus of IDR 392 million compared to negative IDR 8.586 billion in the first quarter last year. Thus, the Company recorded cash and cash equivalents at the end of the first quarter amounting to IDR 505.74 billion, higher than cash and cash equivalents in the previous quarter of IDR 354.89 billion. The Company has a strong financial position to support the Company's sustainable operations and business development.
Prodia's President Director, Dewi Muliaty, explained, "The company was able to produce solid performance during the COVID-19 pandemic which was not over yet. This, of course, is due to the maximum effort of every Prodia’s employee as well as the loyalty and trust that customers have in Prodia. We hope that consistency and continuous improvement can maintain and improve Prodia's performance as the leading health service in Indonesia."
In the first quarter of 2022, Prodia also managed to record an increase in its statement of financial position, namely in total current assets of 5.9% from IDR 1,77 trillion last year to IDR 1,87 trillion. Total current assets also increased to IDR 960.29 billion from IDR 949.51 billion. As a result, there was an increase in the Company's total assets of 4.3% from IDR 2,72 trillion to IDR 2,83 trillion.
In addition, the Company's total liabilities increased from IDR 466.27 billion last year to IDR 483.56 billion. The Company's total equity also recorded an increase of 4.4% to IDR 2,35 trillion in the first quarter of 2022 from IDR 2,25 trillion. Thus, the Company's total liabilities and equity increased to IDR 2,83 trillion or 4.3%.
In early 2022, the Company won the Indonesia Marketing Brands Award (Millenials' Choice) in the Clinical Laboratory category organized by The Iconomics. This is the second time that Prodia has won a similar award which this time was held on an appreciation day entitled "The 2nd Indonesia Marketing Brands Award (Millenials' Choice)". This event was also held in conjunction with the awarding of the 3rd Indonesia Most Popular Digital Financial Brands Award 2022 and the “Marketing & Strategy of 2022” Seminar.
The Company also received renewal accreditation from the College of American Pathologist (CAP), an International Accreditation Agency, which evaluates the quality and standards of a clinical laboratory with international references. 2022 is the tenth time that Prodia has obtained CAP accreditation. This proves that Prodia has consistently implemented a quality management system for accurate and reliable health checks.
In addition, the Company also won the "Best Customer Service" award for the Clinic Laboratory category at the Indonesia Customer Service Awards 2022 held by The Iconomics in Jakarta, March 31, 2022. This award was received directly by Prodia's Customer Experience Manager, Mrs. Evy Liswati Wong via virtual. Along with the development of technology and information in various industries including the health industry, the need for fast services is increasing rapidly. Various ways are needed to improve the quality of service through a variety of product innovations to the services provided.
